Miami Took Down Clemson, 41-13
That Was Stressful, But Fun

That was fun: beating Clemson after losing 4 straight to them by a combined score of 178-30, then winning in double overtime in 2023, 28-20, and last night, 41-13. This game felt like the passing of the torch for Conference dominance; yes, Miami still needs to win the ACC to prove themselves as the Conference Kings, improve, and get healthy. Coop had a coming-out game, with the first play on a screen that went to the house, and that basically set the tone for the rest of the game.
Offensively, Miami was solid; nothing major. Toney didn't have a monster game, but that opened it up for everyone else, sorta. The second-half rushing attack made this game a done deal for Miami: you waste 8 minutes of the clock, then follow it up with another long drive after Clemson went down and score in 2 minutes, which basically killed any hope for Clemson. The offensive line played solid, and they'll keep improving; it's definitely stressful at times, but that's what growing pains look like.
Defense was good for the most part, but we're dealing with injuries to key guys, and when they get healthy, this team will be much better because the game against Notre Dame is going to be the game where you need the defense to find ways to get the ball and even score a touchdown. Damon Wilson Jr. showed out, and it's the perfect game for him to show why he got paid, getting 2.5 sacks, especially with Lightfoot possibly being out. JJ Dunnigan sealed off the night with a pick-six, and that was the icing on the cake.
Overall, I'm happy we beat Clemson, and it puts Miami in sole possession of 1st place in the ACC. Miami has a bye week, which comes at a perfect time given the number of injuries the team is dealing with, and after the bye week, it's rivalry week as Miami takes on Florida State.
Miami leads the all-time series, 8-7.
