Malik, Man
Sigh
I don't even know what to say; Malik is making some head-scratching decisions. There are moments in the game where he takes a sack, but he should throw the ball away. I don't know if Haf and Slowik are trying to make him a pass-first QB and limit how much he runs. He had a big run, and he chose to slide where he was in front og two Cincy players; yeah, they were close to him, but Malik should've kept running. He's overthrowing people badly, and he had a chance to get the ball to Chris Bell, but it was nowhere near him. I really want Malik to succeed, but he's showing he's just the placeholder for the next guy, and it's really frustrating to watch. I know Malik doesn't have much around him, but he still needs to show he is competent enough to be the guy.
Ollie Gordon is continuing to show out in Achane's place, and it's really fun to see him become a bright spot on the Dolphins. Kevin Coleman got his first touchdown as a Dolphin, so he has bragging rights over Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell. The line is continuing to show growth, not anywhere near being the best, but I'm not personally looking for the best; I want to see them continue to grow.
The defense had moments of regression, then moments of being solid, and they continue to show fight; they are becoming the reason it's enjoyable to watch every Sunday. Chris Johnson is continuing to improve himself after a couple of rough weeks to start his rookie season. Still, he's competing, and once again, that's all I'm asking for; games like these, where you're playing a QB like Burrow and wideouts like Chase and Higgins, are gonna make you grow as a player. In life, or in this case, the NFL, you win, or you learn lessons, and these are the perfect opportunities to learn and grow as a player.
Miami is going into the bye week, and that is going to be big for them because right after the bye, they play their heated rivals, the New York Jets, and I see that as one of Miami's wins of the year. So they need to get everything right and figure out Malik's problems cause we're gonna need him. Fins Up.
Dolphins lead the all-time series 18-10.
