Dolphins Free Agency Has Been Fun
Goodbye Tua, Hello Malik

On Monday, March 9, Sully decided to make Tua a post-June 1 cut, splitting his dead cap between this year and next year, not getting into the numbers game, as I'm not familiar with the contracts. He also traded Minkah Fitzpatrick to the New York Jets for a 7th pick for this upcoming draft. I wasn't particularly thrilled that Minkah got traded to the Jets, cause one, it's a division rival, and two, he is still a quality player, but it had to be done, and I fully trust Sully and Haf. Tua's time as a Dolphin needed to be done with, considering how Tua is basically a shell of himself with all the injuries and not having the ability to make plays with his legs. So I am thankful for the 2023 Tua, cause that was a fun but fool's-gold kind of season.
Malik Willis
Miami signed Malik Willis to a 3-year, $67.5 million contract ($22.5 million per year), and at first I was meh about it, cause I don't want to spend money on a QB. Still, the value we got for Willis is a steal, because he was valued at around 30-35 million dollars. It's another one of those low-risk, high-reward situations, 'cause if Willis shows you he can be a franchise player, then you have your guy; if he isn't, then you can draft high next year and get your guy. If Willis isn't the answer, I still would want him to play out his contract and have the rookie sit behind him and learn and develop, so when Willis' time in Miami is done, the next guy can step up and be really good cause he wouldn't have to deal with the stress of playing with the wolves right off the bat. I'm hoping Willis is the guy, cause he can pick up yards with his legs and do things Tua couldn't. Overall, I'm excited with how the offseason is going. Phins Up.
