The Mami Hurricanes lose to the Indiana Hoosiers, 27-21
This was a win-win for me
First off, I want to tip my cap and congratulate the Indiana Hoosiers on winning their first-ever National Title. Fernando Mendoza and Curt Cignetti made this team a total joy to watch, and it couldn't have happened to a better group of players and coaches. Miami played great, just a few costly mistakes that didn't go our way, like the blocked punt for a touchdown or penalties that extended the drive, which against Indiana you can't do, cause they've shown time and time again that they can capitalize on it. It was really back-breaking to see Mendoza score on a 12-yard run on 4th and 5. Watching that, I knew the game was over. Miami still had a golden opportunity to win the game, but you live and learn. Carter Davis missing the kick also didn't help cause the score, let's say, would've been 27-24, and I'm pretty sure Beck wouldn't have thrown the game-losing interception; they would've had a whole different mindset, like go for the win, but have the field goal in your back pocket. I'm definitely gonna miss Reubain Bane Jr., because he is the dude who was here from the beginning, same with Cici Maugioa, and the rest of Mario's first actual recruiting class, and they lived up to their words. Mesidor played his way into a first-round player this year, and no one can tell me different. This was a fun team to watch, and I will enjoy every single moment from this year, and it truly felt like Miami is back. I do agree with Stephan A. Smith (crazy to think) that once Miami wins a Natty. They will most definitely say The U is back, but it's a big step in the right direction for Miami. Everyone from Oregon, Florida, and Florida State can say all they want, saying this was Miami's only chance, which could be true. Still, Miami will be in the thick of things again next year. They will be a playoff-bound team almost every year, barring a midseason collapse, because Mario is the kind of recruiter who will bring in talent from high school recruiting or the transfer portal. Beck threw that costly interception, which I already knew was gonna happen. It sucks cause he has to live with it, but he still achieved what Cam couldn't: make it to the College Football Playoffs. If we had Cam, we'd easily win this game, cause Cam is too dynamic for Indiana to try and control. Great season for the Canes, and next year will be another fun roller coaster of a season. Go Canes.
