Thank you, Lee Corso

Not so fast, sweetheart.

This Saturday will mark the end of a legendary broadcasting career of Lee Corso. He was definitely an icon for my childhood, and so many others. In 1987, Lee was signed as an analyst by ESPN and put on their Saturday morning College Gameday, where they would go to the day's big game. Lee would always play the comedic relief to everyone and use iconic lines like "Not so fast, friend" or calling everyone "sweetheart." The one true thing that made Lee truly iconic was his consistent choice of headwear for the primetime game where College Gameday would usually be. If you ask me, Lee always looked good donning the Sebastian the Ibs headwear, but to each their own. Some of his best moments over the years were his sometimes playful interactions with celebrity guest pickers, such as his banter with Will Ferrell after he picked the Oregon Ducks to beat Ferrell's beloved USC Trojans, or his infamous swearing on TV - I'm not going to repeat what he said, as little children may potentially read these. It's definantly goone be weird not seeing Lee brace our TVs in the future but its like what they say heros comes and goes but legends last forever. So, I want to say thank you, Lee, for making our falls so special, waking up on a nice, cool, crisp fall Saturday in mid-October, getting up around like 8:30 in the morning, putting on ESPN College Gameday, and seeing which team's headgear you were gonna put on, so enjoy retirement, sweetheart.
