Mike McDaniel is fired
Crazy
The Miami Dolphins have fired Mike McDaniel. It needed to be done, but it was wild to think that Stephan Ross actually pulled the trigger. This opens the door for Chad Alexander, the assistant GM of the Los Angeles Chargers, and possibly John Harbaugh, the former coach of the Ravens. This makes the John Harbaugh to Miami bigger now cause he worked with Alexander for a long time in Baltimore, and this gives John the abitlity to be like how Bill Belichick was when he was coaching the Patriots, and this let's John build the team he wants with using Chad as the man that will make the moves and its gonna help Miami out cause this can accelerate the rebuild process. John-Eric Sullivan(Vice President of Player Personnel for the Green Bay Packers) is still a favorite to get the GM role for the Dolphins. Still, the firing of McDaniel paves the way for Harbaugh to become the next head coach for the Miami Dolphins. Again, it needed to be done, and if you want a winning team, you needed to fire Mike to show you are serious and that you have the guts to do it. Mike did have a winning record of 35-33, but the last two years were 15-19; it had just gotten to the point where teams were figuring out how to play the offense McDaniel was running. It was fun when we dropped 70 points on Denver, but look at them now. Denver has the one seed, and Miami has been in purgatory. It's nice now, with a complete reset and a new coach and GM, whereas during Ross's tenure, he would fire the coach and keep the GM, or fire the GM and keep the coach. Dolphins got it right, we all thank Mike for his time, but we need to find a way to win a playoff game before we even think about winning a Super Bowl. But it shows that Ross is willing to make the team competitive even though he has been a numbskull, at times. The future is looking bright for Miami. They need to do the smart thing: hire Chad Alexander as the new GM and get John Harbaugh as the next head coach. Now, if they decide to take John-Eric Sullivan, I'll be perfectly fine with it, cause we can do a whole rebuild from top to bottom and play the long game and get the Miami Dolphins to have the Green Bay Packers mindset, and build the team up to play in the cold, and play bully ball, so this will be an interesting 48-72 hours, and see who is the new GM, and see what the pathway is for the new head coach, cause my view is, Chad Alexander and John Harbaugh are the package deal frontrunners for the team. Still, I'll personally feel fine with either outcome. Fins Up.
