Marchand Returns to Beantown

I Hate Boston

Brad Marchand returns to Boston after being traded to the Panthers last March. Marchand spent from 2009 to 2025 in Boston, winning the Stanley Cup in 2011. The emotions are gonna be mixed tonight, ranging from cheering him before puck drop to being booed during the game.

Period 1

Brad was put in the opening lineup for the Panthers, and quickly drew a penalty, which Mackie promptly capitalized on the Power Play. The video the Bruins did for Marchy was really cool to see, and you can tell the Boston crowd has an undying love for Marchand, even in a Panthers jersey. Bob had some nice saves through the period, and we got a fight between Jonah Gadjovich and Jeffrey Viel, which Viel won. The Panthers came out flying throughout the first period, and we need to keep it up and maintain our momentum. Panthers 1, Bruins 0.

Period 2

Greer with a big goal, pushing the lead up to two. Bob continues to make some big saves, which could easily give the Bruins a goal or possibly the lead. If we can score a power play goal at the start of the third, it'll be tough for Boston to come back from that. Just need Florida to play that grind-it-out style third period that they are known for doing. The Panthers are excelling on the penalty kill, making it challenging for the Bruins. Panthers 2, Bruins 0.

Period 3

That was honestly a wild third period, but the good guys won the game. Boston played really tough that period, and they gave themselves a chance at winning the game. Was hoping for a Marchand goal, but knowing Brad, he'd take the win against his former team. Also, I was hoping Bob could've gotten his shutout, but same as Marchand, he'll take the win as well. Swaggy got the game-winner on a little ole puck luck. Panthers 4, Bruins 3.

Final Thoughts

It's great to beat the Boston Bruins and snap our four-game losing streak, earning 2 points and preventing them from getting a single point. I was hoping we could've stolen the game against Philly and Buffalo, but that's what happens when you're missing key players like Barkov and Tkachuk. Still, this team is really talented, and as they've been saying, they need to step up. Florida returns home to face Syd "The Kid" Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Vamos Gatos.
