College Football Playoffs: Texas A&M

Miami heads to Kyle Field for its first-round matchup against Texas A&M

Series History

Miami and Texas A&M have met only 5 times in their programs' histories, with four of those meetings in the last 20 years. Miami currently leads the series 3-2, with the previous meeting in 2023, when Miami won 48-33 over the Aggies in Miami Gardens. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs in the College Football Playoffs.

Keys to the Game

Carson Beck needs to be the 4-million-dollar quarterback this game and show why Miami gave him the keys to lead us. If he plays the way he did in the last four games, he will put the Canes in a great position, but if he plays the way he did in the middle of the season, you can call it a season. Miami's defense needs to keep Marcel Reed in the pocket and force him to be a pocket passer. But if he gets out of the pocket and extends plays, then Texas A&M is more than capable of getting points out of it. Miami also needs to keep the 12th man at bay, cause Kyle Field is an insane place to play in, and it's massive, so if they can keep them quiet all game, that's gonna go well for Miami.

Predicition

It's gonna be close, and if Miami can find a way to put themselves in a position to win this game, I will be happy with it being our first time in the College Football Playoffs, and especially with now that Miami is basically under a microscope with the whole them and Notre Dame discussion. It should be an entertaining game. Go Canes.
