Canes vs Hokies: Big East Rivals
City Life vs Blue Collar

Series History
From 1953 to 1994, Miami reeled off 12 straight wins against Virginia Tech before the Hokies won their first matchup in 1995 and went on a 5-game winning streak, when the Canes were dealing with sanctions. Over the course of the heated rivalry between the Canes and Hokies, there were some intense moments and some big blowouts. From 1995 to 2024, Virginia Tech has the series lead 15-14, but Miami has the overall record, thanks to a 12-game winning streak that gives Miami the all-time lead 26-15. Miami is currently on a four-game winning streak, including an insane game last year, 38-34, in which Virginia Tech's Kyrone Drone completed a Hail Mary pass to De'Andre Felton for a touchdown, but it was ruled an incomplete pass, sparking massive uproar.
Keys to the Game
Miami needs to have an NC State-type game and just basically run up the score on the Hokies, cause you're trying to make the College Football Playoffs, and make the committee rethink over the whole Notre Dame Miami fiasco. The defense also needs to find a way to score a touchdown or two, and if the special teams can score or put the Canes offense in a situation to get points on the board, cause we need a complete and dominant effort all four quarters, not a Mario-style game.
Prediction
There is no way this game should be close, but it's a rivalry game, so don't be surprised if anything wonky happens, 'cause this game has a scary vibe to it. But there is no way the Canes lose this and extend the winning streak to 5. Go Canes.
